READ Southwest is here to support adult learners from Hampton to Saint John to St. Stephen and all points in between. We are currently recruiting volunteers to become tutors throughout the region.
We currently have tutors in Saint John, St. Andrews, St. Stephen and Grand Manan. Our trained tutors meet with learners on a mutually agreed schedule and location where they work together to improve the learner's literacy and life skills. We can help with basic literacy training, as well as specific goals like working on acquiring a CAEC. This is a free, one to one, confidential service offered to adults 16 years and older. If you are someone you know is struggling with reading, writing, or math, we are here to help. Contact Mary Lou at 506-469-5155 or by email at readsw@readnb.ca. READ Southwest is seeking additional directors to join our active volunteer board and help shape the future of adult literacy in southwest New Brunswick. Previous board experience is welcome but not required. We encourage interest from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including those who understand the challenges adults face when seeking learning opportunities.
